Snow in October
Chloe was VERY excited about the snow today. It was really hard to get her to come inside all day.
We made a snow man!
Looks like it's time to invest in some good snowman building gloves (for me), because this girl has an insatiable appetite for the sport (and that means, MOMMA! Peas hep a foee [Chloe] a build a sown man PEAS!!).

BFF's
Kate and Chloe have been BFF's since they were about 6 weeks old! Actually, Kate's mom Krista and I have been BFF's since we shared our gorey birth stories in the mother's lounge when our babies were 6 weeks old... but the point is, these two have had some good times together!!
These two are so different, like apples and oranges as they say. Totally different, but equally entertaining and hilarious!!

Red River Fishing Trip
Ben and Zach left early one morning to go on a fishing trip that a friend was taking them on. They took out a fan boat on the Red River (just south of Denison, TX). Their friend paid for a river guide, and Zach said he did not bait a single hook or cast a single line (or clean any of their own fish). They were only supposed to be gone for a half day, but decided to stay longer once they got out there. We didn't hear from them all day, and were very curious about their trip.
When we finally got word, it was from Ben. He informed us that Zach caught a catfish the size of a baby, and it GRUNTED when it came out of the water. I knew we were in trouble then, and that proud Zachary would want to fry that sucker up when he got home.

Zach tells me Ben caught a striper, but here he is with a catfish. I guess he decided the catfish looked more impressive.

The boys finally came home at 4:30PM. I looked out the window to see the biggest smile on Zach's face- it was the best day of his year! After I noticed how happy he was, I noticed how red he was. They all totally forgot sunblock, and Zach fared worse than the rest. He was horrified in the following week when he peeled TWICE in a row! I have never seen that happen to anyone. He was so shocked by the experience, that now he is wearing an spf15 face lotion every day-- but I digress.
Zach came bounding in with his bag of fish. I helped him figure out how we were gonna cook it, and he made a special trip to Wal*Mart for cornmeal. I helped him, but I did NOT touch the fish. He was really sweet with his nieces (Emma and Brooklyn). They had an assembly line going and were dipping the fish in egg and then breading, and plopping it into the pans. We oven fried it, and the girls, Zach, and Dori gobbled it up. Emma exclaimed "I didn't think I would like it this much mommy!" Dori MADE me have a bite of hers, and though I wanted to barf when I thought about it, I have to admit that it was flavorful and savory. (I just think of fish faces and it makes me really grossed out).We had two pieces left over, and Zach took them to the neighbors. (The neighbors looked like the type to not turn down some free catfish). :)
That was only one of our many fun experiences. We had such a great time in Texas.

Texas!
While we were in Texas, we LOST OUR CAMERA!! We found it again the day we went to Dallas to visit Lani. Sadly, the only pictures we took of Chloe with her cousins are these:
This one is kind of a mess, but I love how Lola's dancing and smiling!
It was so good to see Dori and Ben and our three nieces. We had our best visit ever, and it was the first time we were able to come to visit just them (so we didn't have to split our time with other family etc).
Lola is so cute! During our stay at Dori and Ben's, Lola and Chloe got in pushing matches. They were so funny, because though Lola is about 10 months younger than Chloe, they are about equally matched (physically). The baby wars were fun to watch. Also, they loved to hug each other, but would end up pulling on each other for support, and toppling over in the effort. These two will be good friends :)
I love this one! Emma, Brooklyn, Chloe, and Lola. It's funny how Brooklyn is trying to hug all the way around Lola's neck, with Chloe between. Lola looks kind of choked, but is still smiling. Emma and Brooklyn were so much fun. Chloe really liked all her cousins.

The Way Home
We stopped in Tulsa and enjoyed Riverwalk Crossing there. We ate at a really nice little Italian restaurant. It was fun to stretch our legs. Everyone was still Texas style friendly in Tulsa.
This is a picture of us at a little restaurant in Kansas City, in the Crown Center. We had dinner at a diner that had a choo choo train theme. They had toy trains that ran around the top of the restaurant and brought you out your dinner! The burgers and sides came out swinging under the trains. At our table a little plastic thing jutted out and the food tray slid onto an elevator, and was lowered to our table. It was pretty cool! The place was really neat too. There was a place that your kids can make their own cards out of Hallmark's left overs (Crown Center is the Hallmark headquarters). There was a huge Crayola store, and a really cool toy store. Only the toy store and the restaurants were open by the time we got there, but it was still cool. There were also cool fountains outside.
