Family Zoo Day

Zach says Chloe was made with his midi-chlorians... because what a spittin' image!

Again with the "sad" face!

And now... happy!

I am so excited that we are going to get to see more of Zach now that it is summer break!! When Chloe talks about the zoo (which is constantly) she almost always asks for "momma... Zoo... Dadda... Zoo... di di (Chloe) ... ZOO!" in that order. She was very happy for us to finally go as a family. So excited that she refused to take a nap for the first time today :)

Earth Day Omaha

Zach was against the idea of joining the global warmer/climate changers when I first brought up the idea this morning. He griped about those Al Gore acolytes for about an hour. Then I gave him an idea and a mission. I said "what if we go in disguise?" The first part of his disguise was to NOT shower. Also, it helped his cause to NOT shave. Then he found a sweatshirt that was not his (left behind by some kind helper from our recent move), and thought that would make him look unlike himself ("don't want anyone to recognise me!"). To polish off the look, Zach fished out these glasses he got real cheap a long time ago, then never wore. He says they look like "liberal" glasses. He also says they are his Clark Kent glasses... so you see... either way it is a disguise.
This was all funny enough, but the real silly thing came when I suddenly realized that he really believed he looked like a different person. "This is really working!" he contemplated seriously(LITERALLY 10 times!!) "No one will recognise me."

Whatever gets him to try something new! SHEESH! :P

Zach was then given a task. I asked him to take pictures of all those "goofy hippies" so I could make a post about them later. These are the pictures we got from the day:

"I'm so cool, I can hula hoop and read a book about mysticism simultaneously.
I AM AWESOME!"
Terrible music. As if it needed more souring, they added lovely subjects. We heard about nuclear waste, and "got rid of the liars" was uttered. We didn't stay long. You can see the rain in this picture.
And of course, there were about 3 people dancing to that trash.

Children who's parents told them that they can change the planet's climate by driving a Prius.
Click Here to learn that the above sentiment is not true.
More dirty hippies.

Last of all, we will tell you about the free cookie trap that we shamelessly dove into. There were free cookies. As soon as I picked one up, I remembered I was on a diet and gave it to Zach... but then we were snared. This guy in the middle just went on and on about how different and unconventional his church was. Cigarette dangling from his yellowed fingertips, he really tried to connect with us and get us to patronise with our fellowship. He really pounded the talking points that they were a progressive church, with a sort of anything goes/come as you are/no need to ever change "church." We finally told him we were very conservative Mormons, and that he was also welcome to join our congregation. His eyes got really big as he took a step back, nervously chuckled, declined, and walked away.
The banner below reads "Supporting all of God's Children." I think it should have a subtitle: "except for the right wing conservative ones."

Oh How Fast She Grows

15 Months old
21 Months Old

A favorite meal.... cheesy something with broccoli something. She started loving this combo with the broccoli cheddar baby food. One time I opened a jar of that stuff to feed it to Chloe in the car, and my mom was seriously annoyed. The smell really bothered her! I thought it was funny.
It's pretty amazing how fast she has grown (and how fast her hair has grown) in only 6 months! She is a good little eater, and a unique little personality!

An Afternoon Photo Shoot

We Were On T.V.

We were just minding our own business playing in the park on what was the first really warm day of the spring, when WOWT channel 6 news reporter Brian Latham asked if he could interview us! There is a clip of it on the WOWT website. Just go to www.wowt.com and go to the little video screen on the right hand side. You have to scroll through the clips and find the one that is titled "Dog Bite Season." Right now, you can find it on page 10. It probably won't be up there much longer. It was very exciting for us! I was kind of nervous.

Happy and Sad

Chloe loves the song "If You Chance to Meet a Frown." She loves making happy and sad faces now.

That last one was a real frown :( She had a stressful Easter Sunday. These are the only Easter pictures I got. Chloe's Grandma Kathy took some cuter ones. I'll have to get them from her :)

My Birthday!

We were so busy in March, I took a break for April. I think I did nothing but read books, and go to the zoo and children's museum all month! It has been great!

MY BIRTHDAY!

I had some better shots, but this one shows how I got teary eyed from Zach's sweet, quavery "Happy Birthday to You" solo! He snapped this picture right after his solo. He got me flowers the night before, and that night he baked me a cake! It was weird to hear him banging around in the kitchen and not be in there helping him. It almost felt like I was a teenager and I had a momma in the home again! A strange feeling to be so pampered. The cake was so good- just what I was craving all week. It was a strawberry cake with regular icing, and fresh strawberries all over it. We had to freeze the cake afterward because of the fresh strawberries, but it was really good all week!

Can You Beat Me?

Thank you, please come again!!
